Die Ferien sind gebucht, die Reisevorbereitungen laufen, die Vorfreude gibts schon lang.. und zum Glück noch etwas Zeit, da noch einiges zu tun ist.

Nun habe ich gerade eine gute Nachricht erhalten:”Thanks for your email. The official guarantee date of our tours is 60 days prior to the departure, however, September 3rd Tibet Unplugged has reached 5 passengers booked which means it has met the minimum numbers to run.”–> Die Tour findet also definitiv statt! YES!

Update 07.07.06: Gemäss Veranstalter-Homepage sind noch 6 von 12 Plätzen frei. Mein Plan sieht folgendermassen aus:

Days 1-2 Kathmandu
This legendary city has a rich and artistic cultural heritage. Kathmandu’s crowded markets and bazaars are the centre of Nepali life and home to the holy men, monks, goats and sacred cows who roam its colourful streets.

Days 3-7 Lhasa
Fly into the heart and soul of Tibet, soaring above high passes, plunging glaciers and the Turquoise Lake, before touching down in the Tibetan spiritual sanctuary of Lhasa. Visit the awe-inspiring Potala Palace, the revered Jokhang Temple and join devout Tibetan Buddhists on their pilgrimage round the holy Barkhor circuit.

Day 8 Gyantse
Located in the green farmland of the Nyang-chu Valley, Gyantse’s imposing Dzong fortress dominates the town. Explore the mystical Pelkor Chode Monastery and wind your way around the labyrinth of chapels within the unique 15th Century Kumbum.

Day 9 Shigatse
The traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, TibetÕs second highest incarnation after the Dalai Lama, Shigatse is home to Tibet’s best-preserved monastery, the Tashilhunpo. Check out the town’s ancient bazaar, buzzing with local life.

Days 10-11 Everest Base Camp
Known to the locals as Qomolangma, Mt Everest is the world’s highest mountain. An exhilarating drive along what is little more than a yak track brings us to Rongphu Monastery, a mere 8km from Everest Base Camp – a walk in the park if you’re up for it.

Day 12 Lao Tingri
In the tiny settlement of Lao Tingri we have time to absorb the vast landscape and get a feel for rural Tibetan life.

Day 13 Zhangmu
Close to the Friendship Bridge that crosses the Bhotekoshi River to Nepal, the border town of Zhangmu clings to a mountainside amid lush forest, a welcome change from the barren Tibet plateau.

Days 14-15 Kathmandu
Heading over 5000m passes into Nepal, our journey comes to an end where it began. Beckoning with a delicious array of international and local cuisine, Kathmandu is the perfect setting in which to chill out in one of many great restaurants and reminisce about our adventure across ‘the roof of the world’.

Update: Zumindest bis nach Kathmandu werd ich’s auf jeden Fall schaffen! Flug und Visum bis dort sind jetzt nämlich okay! Und bald krieg ich auch noch die sinnvollen Impfungen.
